“In Metro Manila alone, kulang ang public transport natin. Reality is, there a lot of locations in Metro Manila that cannot be reached by mass transport. Some people will be forced to pay more than their daily salary just to get home ‘pag malakas ang ulan. Medyo masakit,” Pure Ride Chief Operating Officer Edison Go Tan explained in their motivation to solve the transport problem.

Pricing

A ten percent commission rate is the target, compared to the higher rates of others. But for the first three months, no commission would be taken from drivers. The 20% discount for students, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and athletes shall be honored, but will be evenly split between the company and the drivers. There will be non-monetary rewards incorporated in the platform, like giving uncooked rice and medicines.

A helicopter service is also included in the platform. “‘Yung iba kasi, they want to try or yung malapitan lang talaga… Malaking bagay talaga yung may air asset ka, sobrang bilis,” President and Chief Executive Officer Jomerito “Jojo” Soliman said.
